Hi, I’m Amy (she/her)

I'm a therapist who believes that growth happens through connection and relationships. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, seen, and supported as we work through whatever brings you here.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who received my M.Ed. in Counselor Education with a concentration in couples and family counseling from VCU. My training focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families navigate personal and professional challenges through a systemic framework.

I am passionate about helping clients identify the negative cycles and patterns that keep them stuck. I incorporate interventions from the Gottman Method (Level 2 certification), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families who may want some extra support or are struggling in some aspect of their lives. As a former high school Spanish teacher and extensive traveler to various Spanish-speaking countries, I value cultural humility and strive to provide culturally responsive, identity-affirming care. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to supporting clients of all backgrounds with respect, openness, and inclusion. I offer sessions in both English and Spanish.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and camping with my husband and two children, exploring Richmond’s restaurant scene, reading, listening to podcasts, cooking and baking, and experimenting with watercolor painting.
